Take a Good Look at HD
Some call it "prescription HD," others call it the cure for common TV. But one thing's certain, HD satellite TV is simply awesome. Take a good look at HD. You could be watching the game, or a stunning program on Discovery. It could be your kids' cartoons or just the morning weather. Whatever it is, if it's in HD it sure looks a whole lot different. Take a quick look back at standard definition and you might even say "ew" out loud. After you watch something in HD, standard looks like dishwater compared to that straight-from-the-glacier clarity that is HD.
What's all the fuss about?
If you're asking this question here's one for you. What's all that fuzz about? Come on! High definition picture has one or two million pixels per frame, about five times the amount that standard definition has. Translation: High definition is Thor. Standard definition is Tiny Tim. And they're in the boxing ring. Standard definition might be cute, but Thor is going to win, hands down. Just ask your friends, they already have HD and they agree that, yes, there is a difference.
HD Satellite vs. HD Cable
Honestly, satellite TV packages have more HD programming options. It's true. Do a little digging and you'll find the same thing. That's because with MPEG-4 receivers, satellite offers significantly more HD programming in the form of national HD channels than cable does. Typically, satellite TV providers also carry better HD DVRs than cable providers. Sorry cable. Is that trophy imagery coming back to you at all? It should.
